One in four Germans play cards and this for good reasons: card playing is exciting, sociable and fun, especially with the extremely long-lasting original Altenburger playing cards. They are printed on high-quality stock and protected by a special varnish. Qualified card makers and highly modern printing and processing techniques guarantee that our quality products remain top of the line.
In order to withstand competition we need strong partners. For the production of the original Altenburger playing cards, we only use premium stock from leading international paper mills and the cards are double coated and glued to ensure a high degree of stiffness and to make them particularly suitable for tournaments. Printing is done with state-of-the art machines using printing colours of a vegetable oil basis. Thus, our products are not only environmentally-friendly, but they also posess a high resistance of abrasion.
To protect the surface of the playing cards, they receive a special surface treatment. For this purpose, a special environmentally-friendly varnish is used. It protects the colour from abrasion, improves the brightness and the slippage of the cards, and they become soil- and humidity-resistant. Due to environmental and safety regulations, our company deliberatly dispenses with the use of noxious varnish.
Qualitiy shows itself in the detail. The new "vice action lash" was developed by us in cooperation with the producer of plastic cases. The lash is patented and is used exclusively for the Altenburger playing cards. It helps to avoid the case from opening on its own after removing the cellophane wrapper.
